9000 rep from neutral (first contact) to Honored (when the quest stops being available). This means 360 plant parts for non-humans, 330 for humans in order to go straight to Honored. If you quest properly afterwards (All of CE's Zang quests, BEM quests, etc.) you can be Revered without even doing Steamvault.

Shocking how no one mentions a fine area to farm these.

It's true most, if not all mobs have an average of 20-25% chance to drop these...but I found out that the most annoying of Zangarmarsh creatures hold the key to gaining many Unidentified plants.

If you've ever done an instance in Zangarmasrh, you know of the lake to swim through has a plentiful amount of Mudfin frenzys' that every so often shoot up at you.

Turns out these buggers each have a 20-25% chance to drop an Unidentified Plant, and being they are all 1/4 of a regular mob, to AoE them down in a sense technically quadruples your chance of finding an Unidentified Plant.

I farmed these guys in bear form with no hassle and hit some mobs of 4 with no drops, to tanking a mob of 8 getting 7 drops...the odds are in your favor if you're out for the Grinding of Unidentified Plants.

grinded over 100 of em on my 70 mage in about 20-25 mins in the lake.i had a 27-30% droprate =D good luck!

As an herbalist, you have additional chances of gathering these, including:

- any type of marsh herbs that you pick will give you chance of picking a plant part- you can "gather herb" off of dead mobs in dead mire -- same way a skinner skins a dead mob

This quest available on Neutral too!

So, before doing quest http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?quest=9912 (Cenarion Expedition) - make sure you are honored already. That quest gives you 6000 rep and you really don't wanna miss 6K rep on honored by simply turning the "go there" quest in.

Most of the yellow mobs drops these with high drop rate, I killed like 17 Young Sporebats to complete my quest.

I had better luck with these dropping from the darkcrest sorceress that you need to kill for the quest " a warm welcome" to get the naga claws.

these also drop in dire maul east wing, i collected around 72 plants parts in around 60 mins.

In the Northwest corner of Zangarmarsh there are plentiful Greater Sporebats you can farm these from and if you're also grinding Спореггар rep you'll come across many Прорастающие споры. I'd say by the time you've gotten enough Unidentified plant parts, you should have enough spores to get to at least revered with Sporeggar. Happy hunting!

I am 2/3 Revered with Cenarion Expedition, and I picked up the plant parts (white text), so I think they removed the qualifications for them to drop.

As bnetgamer77 said, Mudfin Crazy's are really effective at farming the Unidentified Plant Parts. You can find them in the lake located at (54, 45).

just go after fin striders the drop rate is really good for those unidentified plant parts almost everytime 100% but then it went down to about 65%its the easiest thing i found to do.I hope this helps u guys i see a few have been havin trouble so good luck .Almost forgot the fin striders are in water but they walk real tall they look like a head with 3 long legs and 2 short hands like a plant tho good luck

Be careful - you can sell off the unidentified plants. Meaning, if you have a bunch of stuff in your sacks and you accidentally sell it off you can find yourself unable to buy it back and have to do it all over again.

For safety I would suggest you segregate your Unidentified Plants into the part of your bags that you don't plan on selling off.

If you are lucky enough to get more than one of the Неизвестный науке вид before the repeatable quest is unavaliable. Make sure you save them for until you are honored because you can hand them in multiple times as long as you have the item left after honored. You will get 500 rep per item. I can confirm this because I was able to loot three of them before the quest was unavaliable. Which gave me 1500 rep past honored. To reach honored from 0 rep neutral, you will need a total of 360 http://www.wowhead.com/item=24401. They drop from various mobs around http://www.wowhead.com/zone=3521.

Apparently this quest is only repeatable up to Honored and then you lose the quest. If you are comfortable with grinding, about 300 is all you need to go from half way through Neutral to Honored. Then you can run the Slave Pens and the Underbog to get to Revered (where you will stop getting rep for the instances) and then you can do all the quests in Zangramars to push to Exalted.

Granted, this strat is not intended to level you but to be the most efficient/worry free way to finish Cenarion Expedition rep.

Make sure your bags are not full when you turn these in. I made the mistake of turning in a few while my bags were full and did not recive my Package of Identified Plants :(

On rare occasions you'll receive an "Uncatalogued Species" inside of your "Package of Identified Plants." It starts a quick and easy quest, return to Lauranna Thar'well and what she'll do is name the plant after you. For me it was, "Purple Leafed Onionknight-ium" + 550(500 to non-human) rep to Cenarion Expedition.

Yeah, the rep you get from these quests (Uncatalogued Species and Identify Plant Parts) is really nice. This is a quest worth grinding if you're aiming for a high rep with Cenarion Expedition.

Be sure you save any Uncatalogued Species you get, while the plant parts will stop giving rep after honored the Uncatalogued Species still will.

if you want to max out your CE rep while levelingsave all you quests except this one until honored, Neutral -Friendly: Grind Nagas by umbrafen (complete the quests for them as well but don't turn them in)Walk where ever you are going in Zangamarsh, kill whatever trash is on the way for the plant parts (as well as fertile spores for sporegarr)Friendly to Honored: turn in plant parts and run SP/UB At honored do quests (you can complete most quests before this while grinding rep elsewhere for the most part

note the quests from the alliance/horde cities and sporegarr dont effect your CE rep, but there are CE quests in HFP, TF, and BEM, that would effect your rep, save them if you really want todo as few heriocs/SV as possible at 70 for rep

Since you can't turn them in once you'er Honored, they'll just take up bag space. You might want to sell them (vendor, or AH in case there's people who don't want to go out and gather Unidentified Plant Parts themselves) or send them to an alt that isn't Honored with Cenarion Expedition yet.

Im surprised that no one has mentioned this yet but depending on your realm you can just buy all 300 Plant Parts on the AH or from fellow players in Zangarmarsh and just turn them in and get to honored before doing a single quest or running a dungeon.

If you use these correctly, it is possible to hit revered CE without going inside a single instance.

Any hunter or rogue can tell you why this is a good thing!

Long story short, dont do a single CE quest besides unlocking this repeatable until you hit honored. Turn in your two stacks or so of plant parts. Then do everything in HFP, Zangarmarsh and the town in Blade's Edge. You should end up about 250-750 rep past revered, maybe more.

If you mess it up (but not too far) the borean tundra camp chain (d.e.h.t.a.) might do the trick.

Its a great way to get your brand new alt (such as a death knight) a head enchant long before level 80, around ~66 or so without any help.

Nobody is doing TBC dungeons anymore, especially the versions that give rep past honored. The next enchants pretty much require you to be level 80 without lots of extra work.

Please note that Add-ons (Such as EveryQuest) and the Wowhead Profiler do not count this quest as completed even if you have done it. This is because it is one of the ~Pick up and hand in with one click~ style quests, or one of the special repeatables which are scattered around the world which don't actually seem to treat themselves as real repeatables. Even if you query the blizzard servers for your completed quests, this quest registers as incomplete.

Maybe this will change in future, but is valid as of the posting date.

I somehow couldn't turn in this quest anymore today at lvl 68 with a 100/3000 or so neutral reputation. I did however manage to complete it a few times at an earlier level.

I find it best to farm these while farming Прорастающие споры off of Большой зангарский скат for Sporeggar along the northwest 'coast.' You can essentially kill two birds with one stone.

Чтобы попасть в Форт Камнеломов, ступай по дороге, что ведет из Зангартопи на юг, в лес Тероккар, за Туурем.

Да уж, давно пора ему достроить эту заставу! Слишком много наших гонцов погибло от рук разбойников из Альянса...

Sooo... Neverdying honour! How's that for a quest reward. Your name will be passed down through history, and every time a new level 61 grinder tramples one of your flowers down, they'll remember you fondly. >_>

No pre-reqs, I have a lvl 61 NE alt that I gave enough plant parts to to go from 0 into neutral to honored. She hadn't done anything in Zangarmarsh, not even the Cenarion Outpost quests in Hellfire. I got 4 of the Uncatalogued plant parts, which puts the drop rate at like 1 in 11 turnins for me, since I turned in just over 450 unidentified plant parts. So they seem to be pretty rare.

Yea, i'd love to keep turning these things in but i cant seem to turn in any more plants after i hit honored.. its really lame.. i wanted to start gettin the revered and exalted... i even have like 400 of those plant parts.. now i cant even turn them in.. lol

if you know what i can do to increase my rep for CE at 63-64 lemme know.. i have done "ALL" the Hellfire and zang quests.. already started in terrokar..

well i guess my next 70 will be exalted by 61.. <DEX>

Alternatively, the player can begin turning in for a chance at an , which can be turned in for 500 reputation. It is suggested that the player save his Uncatalogued Species until after Honored status is achieved, as the quest cannot be continued past that point, while Uncatalogued Species can be used until Exalted.

Just did these turn-ins on my priest alt. I had about 320 unidentified plants, so was about 40 short of getting honored. This might just be my imagination, but I believe they upped the drop rate on these. I've done the whole grind with about 5 characters so far and on every other character I received only one, sometimes none of these Uncatalogued Species.

On this run through, which is post-WotLK / patch 3.0, I received 6 Uncatalogued Species. Fluke? Random number generator at work? Or is the rate increased to help with the rep gains?

EDIT: Just in case you are interested, or if this happens to you, I contacted Support, and after looking into it, they refunded the item to my char's bags, so I can complete the quest ^^

Зангартопь необыкновенно красивое болото с множеством гигантских грибов. Хотя жизнь здесь кишит, некоторые места почвы стали бесплодными. В результате этого охранники леса стали активно восстанавливать погибшие участки почвы. Эта локация находится в Запределье на западе от Полуострова Адского Пламени.

Топи являются домом большого количества животных таких, например, как Грибные Великаны и Спороскаты.

Об истории Зангартопи не очень много упоминаний в Warcraft II. Она даже не появляется на картах Дренора. В тексте Восход Орды, в этом месте Велен и его последователи спасают орков от геноцида; также Зангартопь упоминается в трейлере к Обновлению 2.1, куда Акама приводит своих последователей.

Против Наг Иллидана, высасывающих воды из озер Зангартопи и Племени Анго'рош вырубающих грибы для своих нужд, борется Кенарийская экспедиция[1].

Кенарийский оплот.

Зангартопь представляет из себя большую болотистую местность с множеством озер и окружена горами с юга и севера, и незначительной частью с востока. На западе можно увидеть большую прибрежную линию. Гигантские грибы являются самой отличительной достопримечательностью локации, и выглядят как громадные деревья.

В Зангартопи расположены четыре подземелья Резервуара Кривого Клыка, одно из которых является рейдовым подземельем на 25 игроков. В этой локации не существует каких либо внутренних полей боя, но существует небольшое мировое пвп, недалеко от входа в Резервуар Кривого Клыка.
